Eligibility Criteria
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per University rules.
Admission to Ph.D. Program of University of Delhi is governed by the Ordinance VI of the University, its Amendments, and other notifications issued by University of Delhi from time to time in this regard.
Admission to the Ph.D. Program is done on the basis of the eligibility criteria and procedures specified by the University on its website, Ph.D. Bulletin of Information – 2025 (Ph.D. BOI-2025). Before initiating the registration process, the candidates must read the contents of Ph.D. BOI-2025 and consult the University of Delhi Act, 1922, its amendments and the Statutes. The
Ordinances, Rules, Regulations, and Notifications of the University of Delhi available on the University website, www.du.ac.in shall be final and binding. For the academic session 2025-26, the Ph.D. registration portal may be opened more than one time in an academic year. For admission to Ph.D. program for the academic session 2025-26, the scores of NET Examination
conducted in December 2024 and June 2025 will be considered in Phase-I and the scores of NET Examination conducted in June 2025 and December 2025 will be considered in Phase-II. Admission to the Ph.D. Program is done online through the University’s portal http://phd2025.uod.ac.in.

Procedure for Admission
The candidate is required to make a short presentation to the interview committee on an advanced topic in an area of his/her research interest at the start of the interview. Assessment will be based on the presentation and the candidate’s interaction with the committee.
