Eligibility Criteria
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per University rules.
For admission to Phase II of Ph.D. Program for the academic session 2024-2025, the scores
of NET Examination conducted in June 2024 and December 2024 (held on January 03 –
January 27, 2025) will be considered.

Procedure for Admission
From the academic session 2024-25, the University of Delhi will use the National Eligibility Test (NET) scores for admission to Ph.D. Programs. The short-listed candidates shall appear for an interview.
Students who qualify UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/DST-INSPIRE/NBHM/RJNF/GATE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship/ teachers fellowship holder/teachers who are in service in Delhi University may directly appear for interview. Candidates holding Junior Research fellowships or equivalent research positions in projects, satisfying the minimum eligibility conditions (subject to selection by the duly constituted committee as per the University norms for research projects) may also appear directly for an interview. Scientists/professionals working at R&D institutes of the Government of India/State Government and with whom the University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding may directly appear for interview subject to fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria.
The candidate is required to make a short presentation to the interview committee on an advanced topic in an area of his/her research interest at the start of the interview. Assessment will be based on the presentation and the candidate’s interaction with the committee.
