The one-year master programme in Mathematics has been started by the Department from the Academic Session 2026-27. On an average, about 120 students will secure admission to this programme every year across the North and the South Campuses. The curriculum has been designed under Postgraduate Curriculum Framework (PGCF) based on NEP 2020.

For DSC and DSE Courses, End Semester examinations will be of 90 marks and will be on the same pattern which is currently followed.
Tutorial
(i) Out of 40 marks allotted to tutorials, maximum 5 marks will be for tutorial attendance, and each student shall be required to submit the solution to one tutorial sheet carrying a maximum of 20 marks.
(ii) There will be a 15 marks assessment of each student towards the end of semester based on problems similar to those given in tutorial sheets called “Problem Solving Skills Assessment”.
Internal Assessment
(i) Out of 30 marks for the internal assessment, there will be a class test of 24 marks (scale down to 12 marks) on the same pattern which is currently followed.
(ii) Maximum 6 marks will be for class attendance.
(iii) Teachers will give a 1 or 2 set(s) of assignments to be evaluated out of a maximum of 12 marks.
