Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi ranked first among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities in QS World Ranking 2026 by Subject: Mathematics

We are glad to inform everyone that the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi has been consistently ranked First among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities for the last several years in QS World Rankings.

As per the QS Ranking 2026 by Subject Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi is placed at

• 10th position in the country after 5 old IITs (Madras, Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur and Kharagpur)/  IISc Bangalore/ Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata etc. 
• 1st position among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities.
• 201-250 bracket in overall world ranking.
