Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi ranked first among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities in QS World Ranking 2025 by Subject: Mathematics

We are glad to inform everyone that the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi has been consistently ranked First among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities for the last several years in QS World Rankings.

As per the QS Ranking 2025 by Subject Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi is placed at

• 8th position in the country after 5 old IITs (Madras, Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur and Kharagpur), IISc Bangalore and Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata. Last year, we were at 10th position.
• 1st position among the Mathematics Departments of Indian Universities.
• 201-250 bracket in overall ranking, which was earlier in 251-300 bracket for last two years.
